At Deb Bettencourt Photography we're preparing for this Saturday's charity event, happening at Briggs Nursery in North Attleboro!

We've teamed up with Briggs (295 Kelley Blvd, North Attleboro MA) to Scare Off Hunger on Saturday, October 27th.  With a spooky photo set, tasty treats and smiles galore, this is one Halloween party you don't want to miss.

Stop by on Saturday, October 27th from 11am til 3pm with a donation of two canned food items and receive a FREE 5x7 print of your little ghost or ghoul (limit one per family).  They are welcomed to come dressed in their Halloween costumes!  All canned goods donations will help restock the shelves at the St Vincent de Paul Food Pantry and Lenore's Pantry.  With ever-increasing needs from local families for food, the pantries need a little help from each of us.  

Briggs has a great cafe for you to grab a treat while we're photographing your child, and Sweet Whips, maker of gourmet marshmallow treats, will have amazing treats for sale with a portion of the proceeds benefiting St Vincent de Paul and Lenore's Pantry food banks.

How Quickly They Grow!

Normally it would be a bad thing that I'm so behind in my blog posts.  But I thought this was a fun way to catch up on a few sessions all at once.  I've been photographing this cutie since she was born in February.  We've done a newborn portrait, a three month portrait, and last week a six month portrait.  Look how much she's changed in just six months!

She's part of our Baby's First Year Plan so we're already scheduled to get together at nine months and her first birthday.  It's a blast to work with a family throughout their baby's first year and beyond.  I'll keep you all posted when she comes back in.

What a Perfect Wedding Day!

August 11th turned out to be a perfect day for Amanda & Justin's wedding.  The rain, which the forecasters threatened would fall throughout the day, was a total no-show!  Amanda's mom had heard that hanging rosary beads outside would help stave off the rain...and with nothing to prove otherwise it worked perfectly.  From the preps at Amanda's house, which were very organized despite what they thought, to getting to St. Mark's Church on time, to beating the crowd to the Wannamoisett CC to start photographs, everything went smoothly.

No matter how many weddings we photograph I always think the couple who's marrying that day is the most in-love couple I've ever seen.  And Amanda and Justin were no exception.  They enjoyed mingling and dancing with friends and family but always seemed to have a smile across the room for each other.  There was lots of laughter, dancing, and a surprise sundae bar to finish off a sweet day.

We wish Justin and Amanda nothing but happiness as they begin their married life together!

Children's Limited Time Portrait Event

  It's time for our two day Enchanted Forest Fairy Portrait Event!

   We met some wonderful new families during our last event.  Everyone was excited to bring home a one-of-a-kind portrait that captures the fantasy and whimsy of childhood.  And now their friends are waiting for September 21st and 22nd to bring their children in.

   This magical portrait set puts your child in a dreamy forest, complete with a frog who could be a Prince, butterflies, a mushroom for perching and a reflecting pond.  We supply the wings, props and Magic.  You just need to bring your young Fairy or Sprite.

   This session is geared towards 3 to 8 year old girls but we've had one young brother who joined his sister and we've had a request for a mother-daughter portrait this time, so don't be shy to ask if you have and ideas about your session.

It's First Communion Time!

First Holy Communion is an important part of your child's Faith Formation journey. It's a wonderful reason to make a visit to your family's portrait photographer to capture all the facets of your son or daughter's growth as a person. I remember all the emotions we experienced as our twin daughters celebrated their First Communion. The white dresses are enough to bring you to tears with imaginings of the day they walk down the aisle as a bride. The seriousness of the occasion, mixed with that twinkle in their eyes. And you're watching them, wondering how they can be so grown up already. Now I look at those portraits and think that they looked so young! But the important thing is that we took the time to capture that important day in portraits that we'll treasure and pass down to the girls later.

Amanda & Justin's E-Session

Justin & Amanda came to view their engagement session photographs this weekend.  They chose to have their session done at Heritage Park in Fall River because Justin grew up close by AND he proposed to Amanda there.  These images will have so much personal meaning beyond just being photographs of the two of them together.  I received the photographer's highest compliment in Amanda saying that she usually hates photographs of herself but liked 98% of the ones we captured.  I'd love to round her comment of "98%" up to "100%" but I'm very much in favor of full disclosure!
They are getting married in August and we're working on a beautiful, custom guest sign-in book using their favorite images.  It's a great way to keep your engagement pictures close at hand in your home, and you get to read the well-wishes, comments and good advice from your wedding guests close to you instead of buried in a drawer.  Enjoy the video!
