Horsing Around

Here's one of the images taken at a Christmas portrait session yesterday. Jonesy was well behaved for a young pony. The kids are great with him! Can't give away any more of the pics in case you're on their Christmas card list!

I'm trying to catch up on postings from a summer full of weddings and babies. More to come...

Meet Ariana!

I had the pleasure of meeting 10 day old Ariana today. I photographed Paul and Amanda's wedding so it's an honor to photograph their first born! She was a perfect lady throughout the session. And I've been christened as only a naked newborn baby can do! I'm sure I had it coming.

Watch Ariana grow as we document her first year in photographs. First Year photo programs are a great way to capture the amazing changes of your baby's first year.

First Birthday for the Twins!

Max & Gemma came to visit this past weekend. They've just celebrated their first birthday two weeks ago. What a difference a year makes! Gemma's close to walking on her own but was happy to stay put, a good thing since we had her on a pedestal! Max has just found his crawling legs and was hard pressed to stay still for very long. The coming year will bring so many more changes for them and I can't wait to capture it all in pictures for their family!

This picture of Max fighting the tie seems to be a statement about the corporate world!

A Night at the Museum (of Work & Culture)

I'm one of five local photographers who are exhibiting art at the Museum of Work & Culture in Woonsocket, RI during May and June. It's been really exciting to be part of a show!

There's a pretty diverse range of photographic interests among the group. Ranging from portraiture of children and adults, character studies, and urban blight, to seascapes, still lifes and belted Galloway cows, there is something for everyone to enjoy!

We hosted a Reception for friends and family on May 30th at the Museum. There's nothing to compare to the rush when a stranger is admiring one of your photographs! Viewing each others' work also gives us a push to break out of our own comfort zones and photograph things we normally don't normally go after. Personally, the urban blight has to be on this side of the chain link fence for me to consider it. I pay attention to the "No Trespassing" signs, but that's why I don't get some of the cool images that Mike (center) gets! Luckily, there are plenty of photo ops without rounding fences when he and I have gone out shooting! It's all a matter of "seeing" something others miss.

Here are the images I had on display for the exhibit!

Sue & Jeff

Sue & Jeff dressed in their wedding clothes this weekend and modelled for a bridal portrait session in beautiful West Hartford CT.

After some coaxing from several photographer friends Craig Freeman, a CT wedding photographer, shared his techniques for photographing brides and grooms. His style is laid back and comfortable, clearly allowing the couple to relax and interact with each other. The result is a collection of photographs that reflect the personality and relationship of the couple. Landscape features and architecture enhance the images and highlight the people.

These are my images from the day. I can't wait to incorporate some new methods into my weddings and engagement sessions!

Details of the flowers, clothing and accessories are photographed in a way that incorporates items that are part of the couple's daily life.

Let me know what you think by leaving a comment at the end of this Post! Thanks!

Cape Cod & 300 Photographers

When you're a photographer there's nothing better than getting together with other photographers to trade ideas and learn something new! That's exactly what I had the opportunity to do for the week of March 28th. The weather was lousy so it's a good thing we weren't planning to photograph on the beaches around Hyannis. Instead we spent our days and evenings in class with experts in photography and the "business of photography".

I left the Cape with my head spinning with new ideas for photographing your family and for offering the best service and products you can find in the Southeastern MA area. That's a tall order for any business, but I heard over and over again that it's the only way to ensure that I provide service you'll rave about to your family, friends, and even strangers!

Look for more information in the coming months! Thank you.

This is me (center) with Bev and Tim Walden, award winning photographers & trainers, from Kentucky.

March of Dimes Event

The Providence Children's Museum was the location of the March of Dimes Annual NICU Family Reunion this week. Children who spent time in Women & Infants Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit were invited for an evening of play with some of their fellow NICU "graduates".

This year's March of Dimes Ambassador Family, Lieutenant Governor Elizabeth Roberts, M.o.D. Director Betsy Akin, and Lucille Bush of CVS were in attendance.

Katelyn Hall and her family are traveling around the country this year to speak to March of Dimes supporters about the assistance M of D provided when Katelyn was born prematurely five years ago. Visit http://www.marchofdimes.com/ for more information about their support for research and education to reduce the incidence of premature births.

Children and their parents had a great time playing in the interactive exhibits.

And, when the evening was over, each child went home with a Mister Potato Head plush toy, compliments of Hasbro!

Glamour Girls

During winter vacation Alisha, Megan and Olivia came to the studio armed with their favorite music and several changes of clothes. The girls vamped it up for the camera in a session for Alisha's eleventh birthday!

They definitely weren't camera shy and had a great time. Alisha received a custom designed Soft Cover Album as a keepsake of a fun time with her BFF's!

Bunnies!

This weekend we got together with some friends and their children to test the logistics of photographing kids with live bunny rabbits.

Patches and Chloe were on their best behavior with the little ones.

As you can see from the photos, everyone was feeling the love and we had a great time!

Look for more information soon on dates for portrait sessions of your children with bunnies at our studio!
