We've Relocated!

Are you like me, starting each year with a long list of New Year's Resolutions and lots of good intentions?  How's it working for you as of March 6th?  For me, not so impressive.  On my list was the ubiquitous "lose weight" and "exercise daily" plus one that ranks right up there with those two..."Blog regularly".

Similar to exercise resolutions where you run out and buy new yoga pants and a hi-tech stay-dry top that will definitely entice you out of bed at 5am much better than an old vacation t-shirt, I updated my website last year and added the most beautiful leather-bound journal style blog page.  I was certain that I'd be so excited to see the lovely graphics that I'd practically get up earlier than 5am so I could blog before exercising each morning!  Well...it's March and today I needed to look up the instructions for accessing my new blog AND this old blog...and NOT at 5am.

They say that hope springs eternal, and I'm nothing if not an optimist.  So today I am wrapping up this blog page and inviting you to visit my new blog.  It can be accessed through our website at www.DebBettencourtPhotography.com.

First Communion Event!

First Holy Communion is an important part of your child's Faith Formation journey. It's a wonderful reason to make a visit to your family's portrait photographer to capture all the facets of your son or daughter's growth as a person.

I remember all the emotions we experienced as our twin daughters celebrated their First Communion. The white dresses are enough to bring you to tears, imagining the day they walk down the aisle as brides.  The solemness of the occasion, mixed with that twinkle in their eyes.  And you're watching them, wondering how they can be so grown up already.  Now I look at those portraits and think that they looked so young! But the important thing is that we took the time to capture that important day in portraits that we'll treasure and pass down to the girls later.

Exciting Times

Sometimes you just have to admit that you can't do it all yourself!  It's taken a while for me to come around to that revelation but it finally set in.  So, I'm currently working with a web designer and related professionals.  It's still a lot of work but now there's someone with the end vision in mind and she's moving me steadily in the right direction.  The fact that it took some time to even remember how to log into the design side of my website tells me I'm not really up to the task of revamping it.

The first tangible result of the project is our new logo, shown above.  After several go-arounds we finally said "Yes! This is the one."  It features colors that are bright and fun, not stuffy or fussy, and while the "d" and "b" just look cool to me, our daughters are certain they were meant to reflect their love of music.

The perfectionist in me has put off introducing the new logo, thinking that everything has to be done before I showed it off.  But now I know that rolling things out as they are completed will help everyone get used to the new look a little at a time.

What hasn't changed is our passion to create beautiful portraits that capture the personality of your family and will be cherished for generations to come.  I look forward to keeping you posted in the months to come as the new website becomes a reality!

Halloween Charity Event to Scare Off Hunger!

Scare Off Hunger!!!

At Deb Bettencourt Photography we're preparing for this Saturday's charity event, happening at Briggs Nursery in North Attleboro!

We've teamed up with Briggs (295 Kelley Blvd, North Attleboro MA) to Scare Off Hunger on Saturday, October 27th.  With a spooky photo set, tasty treats and smiles galore, this is one Halloween party you don't want to miss.

Stop by on Saturday, October 27th from 11am til 3pm with a donation of two canned food items and receive a FREE 5x7 print of your little ghost or ghoul (limit one per family).  They are welcomed to come dressed in their Halloween costumes!  All canned goods donations will help restock the shelves at the St Vincent de Paul Food Pantry and Lenore's Pantry.  With ever-increasing needs from local families for food, the pantries need a little help from each of us.  

Briggs has a great cafe for you to grab a treat while we're photographing your child, and Sweet Whips, maker of gourmet marshmallow treats, will have amazing treats for sale with a portion of the proceeds benefiting St Vincent de Paul and Lenore's Pantry food banks.

We're looking forward to seeing all the children in costume.  Come help us make a difference and have some fun!

How Quickly They Grow!

Normally it would be a bad thing that I'm so behind in my blog posts.  But I thought this was a fun way to catch up on a few sessions all at once.  I've been photographing this cutie since she was born in February.  We've done a newborn portrait, a three month portrait, and last week a six month portrait.  Look how much she's changed in just six months!

She's part of our Baby's First Year Plan so we're already scheduled to get together at nine months and her first birthday.  It's a blast to work with a family throughout their baby's first year and beyond.  I'll keep you all posted when she comes back in.
